Pharmacists Manitoba has been working collaboratively with the Provincial Drug Program to resolve a number of issues members have brought to our attention with regards to the Pharmacare and EIA benefit changes for Blood Glucose Test Strips.
MB Health has created an information webpage to assist patients in understanding the changes. A pdf document that can be downloaded, printed and handed out to patients providing additional information and an explanation of the changes has also been made available.
Manitoba Health has been working with software vendors to implement changes to their systems to accommodate the new PINS. We have also received assurances that Pharmacare Help Desk staff have been educated to provide pharmacists, prescribers, and patients with answers to questions about the changes.

Pharmacists Manitoba will continue to work collaboratively with Manitoba Health, Provincial Drug Programs to resolve any additional issues regarding implementation of the benefit changes for blood glucose test strips.
