Claims Submission Procedure Updates

A Message from Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living, Provincial Drug Programs (PDP)

As you may be aware, PDP has been working with Pharmacists Manitoba to enhance the Claim Submission Procedure and provide additional clarity on how to complete the Frequent Dispensing Authorization Form. We understand that this has been a learning process and appreciate the patience of all pharmacists. We believe that the new changes will decrease pharmacist workload, processing time, and clarify when and how to complete a Frequent Dispensing Authorization Form.  

We would ask all pharmacists to review the documents that have been posted at: http://www.gov.mb.ca/health/pharmacare/healthprofessionals.html.  Please note: make sure you clear your browser history and cache to view the current documents.

Under the new process:

• Any submitted forms utilizing the previous form are no longer being reviewed; pharmacists should review the new Claims Submission Procedure and submit requests using the new form (if applicable);
• If PDP has approved a previous request with the old form – it will remain approved.  There is NO need to resubmit forms for these patients.
