Jennifer Ludwig was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba and graduated from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Pharmacy in 2005.  She began her career with Super Thrifty Drugs Canada Ltd. as a teenager, working the front till at Home Health Care Pharmacy, and upon her graduation, packed her suitcase to take on the role of relief pharmacist for the chain, travelling rural Manitoba and as far away as Nunavut. 

In 2006, Jennifer completed specialized training in compounding at the Professional Compounding Centres of America (PCCA) in Houston, Texas. Since that time, she has worked to increase her knowledge in pain management, hormone replacement therapy and veterinary medicine. Her interest in veterinary medicine became even more apparent with the addition of her puppies, and she became certified in veterinary compounding in December 2010. 

Jennifer became an owner and the manager of Super Thrifty Pharmacy in 2011.  During her time there, she helped build and open their NAPRA compliant compounding lab and sterile room suite.  She currently serves as a member of the Super Thrifty Drugs Canada Ltd. Board of Directors, and in February 2022, was promoted to President of the Company, which operates 16 stores across Manitoba and British Columbia. 

From 2012-2020 and 2022-2024, Jennifer served on council for the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba and has acted as their Executive Treasurer, President, and Vice-President.  She maintains positions on various committees involved in promoting patient safety and governance within the pharmacy profession.  Jennifer also participates in Pharmacists Manitoba endeavours, being an active member of the Economic Advisory Committee. 

In addition to her contributions to pharmacy, Jennifer is also involved in her community. She currently sits on the Brandon Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and has volunteered with the Westman Dreams for Kids Advisory Committee as well as the Assiniboine Community College Foundation Board. 

She is married to her husband Jordan, and together they enjoy spending time with their canine fur baby, Lou Bixby.  When she’s not working, Jennifer enjoys a great pun and can often be seen laughing at her own terrible jokes.
