This year's recipient of the Ruban Insurance Friend of Pharmacy Award is Oumad Khalek.

Biography:

Oumad has worked at Northway Pharmacy Broadway (formerly Broadway Pharmacy) for 20 years. In 2009 Oumad became the operations manager (non-pharmacist) of Broadway Pharmacy.  Over the years, Oumad has had a direct impact on many patients' lives by listening to their needs and caring about their well-being.  Oumad has been an integral part of the team supporting pharmacists and contributing to new innovations that continually allow the pharmacists he works with to provide more and more clinical services to patients.

In addition, Oumad has taken a lead role in community involvement by volunteering and attending so many events throughout the year; including a Main Street Project BBQ and Gala, The Broadway Neighborhood Community Center Holiday dinner that Northway hosts, sponsorship and participation in several charity golf tournaments including Northway Pharmacy's annual tournament, being involved at holiday parties and other events hosted by agencies supported by Northway Broadway.  Oumad serves on a non-profit board for an agency that supports individuals with intellectual disability and autism.

Oumad's contribution to advancing pharmacy speaks for itself day-after-day as his knack for efficiency supports pharmacists to do more and more but the real contribution is in the way he represents the profession of pharmacy to the community!
