GRAND MEDICINE HEALTH SERVICES

Job Title: Pharmacist

Grand Medicine Health Services is a progressive healthcare provider integrating community, hospital and compounding services out of three Manitoba locations. We are presently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to help us at our location inside Health Sciences Centre.

Your primary role will be to help provide exceptional professional consultation to every Grand Medicine client.

The successful applicant has a desire to succeed, an efficient style and is team oriented.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Dispensing medications in an accurate and timely manner
  • Working with Regulated Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants to deliver excellent customer service
  • Assisting the Pharmacy Manager
  • Delivering health promotion programs as required

You will bring to the role:

  • Qualifications in pharmacy
  • Thorough knowledge of OTC and prescription medications
  •  Authorization to administer a drug or vaccine by injection (or willingness to achieve)
  • Authorization to prescribe a drug for self-limiting conditions and smoking cessation (or willingness to achieve)

We offer excellent hours with shifts starting no earlier than 8:30am and ending no later than 7:00pm, limited Saturday hours and no Sundays, along with competitive remuneration and benefits including paid parking.

PROVIDEN PHARMACY LOGISTICS           

Job Title:  Pharmacist, Operations Manager

Location:  Winnipeg, Manitoba

Description: Providen Pharmacy Logistics provides management, operational, regulatory, information technology, and central fill support services to community based pharmacies and healthcare facilities.  We work with institutions, nursing stations, physician offices, pharmaceutical wholesalers / manufacturers and other health care providers to build strong local services for our community pharmacy clients and patients.

As a member of the Providen team, you will become part of an innovative solution based company focused on delivering optimal care to patients in all settings. 

The Pharmacist, Operations Manager is accountable for the overall operations at the Central Pharmacy and to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures set forth by the Pharmacist Manager and the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.  The Operations Pharmacist will also provide clinical support to nurses, physicians, and patients ensuring optimal care.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage all pharmacist responsibilities as set out by College of Pharmacists of Manitoba, including but not limited to; prescription counselling, checking, patient reviews
  • Met all operational needs, including, but not limited to, pharmacy staff duties and hours
  • Manage Staff Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Assistants, and Clerks
  • Ensure pharmacy meets all requirements set forth for narcotic and controlled substances
  • Be involved with development and implementation of Policy and Procedure Manuals for Central Pharmacy and/or Institutional practices
  • Collaborate with the development team on the implementation of new pharmacy contracts and project
  • Meet all clinical needs of nurses, physicians, and patients

Competencies

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree
  • A valid license with good standing with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.
  • Expert customer service and compassion for patients
  • Excellent management skills and experience with managing teams of technicians and assistants would be an asset
  • Experience with institutional pharmacy practice is an asset
  • Developing new pharmacy programs and initiatives
  • This position requires a significant degree of self-starting and independence

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hours -  Monday – Friday, 10am-6pm, 40 hours / week.  Rotational Saturday 10am – 2pm.  
  • Salary - $100,000.00. An annual performance bonus will be paid on successful bottom line performance according to budget targets.   
  • Performance Bonus – based on exceeding targets based on mutually agreeable budget.
  • Vacation – 3-week vacation annually.
  • Benefits – Full benefits package included 
  • Other – Licensing Fees and professional development allowance provided.

The Pharmacist is accountable for the overall operations at the Satellite Pharmacy and to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures set forth by the Providen management team and the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.  The Pharmacist will also aid in the program development, implementation, marketing, and patient care activities that support health promotion within the community.   The Pharmacist is an important part of the overall community health initiative and is required to liaise with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and other external stakeholder relations.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage all pharmacist responsibilities as set out by College of Pharmacists of Manitoba, including but not limited to; prescription counselling, checking, patient reviews
  • Ensure pharmacy meets all requirements set forth for narcotic and controlled substances
  • Be involved with development and implementation of pharmacy marketing initiatives to patients, health care providers
  • Collaborate with the development of patient education tools
  • Liaise with medical staff, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and patient support groups.
