PAM 2017

I Love My Pharmacist Social Media Campaign

With PAM coming to an end Pharmacists Manitoba can report it was a successful month. The feedback and response from the I Love My Pharmacist stickers was incredible. Stickers were mailed to all community pharmacies and some requested additional stickers. We had over a 100 submissions on Twitter and Instagram for the I Love My Pharmacist social media campaign and will announce the winner on April 5, 2017. It was a big hit with pharmacists and the public.

Legislative Reception

Our reception at the Legislature on March 21, 2017 was a huge success. Pharmacists Manitoba President, Sharon Smith and Minister of Health, Seniors and Active Living, the Honourable Kelvin Goertzen opened the evening with welcome remarks. The Board of Directors, staff and volunteers were able to engage with over 20 MLAs, focusing on professional pharmacy services including medication reviews, minor-ailment assessment and prescribing and point-of-care testing. CPhA’s support enabled Carlo Berardi, CPhA’s Past Chair to attend the event and bring a national perspective to the discussions. To view photos from the reception please click here.

Provincial and National Survey

We teamed up with CPhA this month to deliver a national and provincial Image and Reputation Survey. The provincial survey results show Manitobans overall impression of pharmacists, the important role pharmacists play in the healthcare system and much more. To view the survey results click here.

I Love My Pharmacist Student Event

On March 5, 2017 first year pharmacy students, members of our board and Pharmacists Manitoba staff set up at St.Vital Centre to engage members of the public by discussing the I Love My Pharmacist Campaign, handing out stickers and encouraging them to sign the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba petition. Overall response to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba petition has been exceptional. To date almost 1,000 signatures have been collected in support.

Thank You To Everyone Involved in PAM 2017

We would like to thank our our sponsors, CPBA, Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaw and everyone that was involved with Pharmacists Awareness Month 2017. We couldn’t have done this without all the support and help from our members, stakeholders and board members.
