2026 Winner of the
Bowl of Hygeia Award

The Bowl of Hygeia Award is presented in recognition of the time and personal sacrifice devoted by pharmacists to the welfare of their respective community. This award was established in 1958 and awarded to a pharmacist for outstanding community service.

Jennifer Ludwig

Jennifer Ludwig was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba and graduated from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Pharmacy in 2005. She is an owner and pharmacist with Super Thrifty Drugs Canda Ltd. and in in 2022 became President of the company, which operates 17 stores across Manitoba and British Columbia. Jennifer is very active in the pharmacy profession, having been a member of the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM) Council for 10 years and acting as Executive Treasurer, President, and Past President. She also participates in committee work with Pharmacists Manitoba, including the External Relations Committee and Economic Advisory Council.

Jennifer has always had a soft spot for her community. One of her first opportunities was volunteering with Westman Dreams for Kids Advisory Committee, working to fulfill dreams of very ill or terminally ill children. This was followed by working on the Assiniboine College Foundation Board in a fundraising campaign for the nursing program’s Hands On Learning Opportunity Training Facility (HOLO Suite), which provided High Fidelity Human Patient Simulation Mannequins for student learning.

Currently, Jennifer is President of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce where she actively advocates at municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government on behalf of chamber members, and the wonderful city of Brandon. She also sits on the Premier’s Business and Jobs Council subcommittee for US Trade. Jennifer is married to her husband Jordan, and together they enjoy spending time with their canine fur baby, Lou Bixby.
