Young Leader Award
The Young Leader Awards are open to pharmacy students (interns) in their final year of study who have made a professional contribution to patient care, the pharmacy profession, or among their colleagues and peers at the University of Manitoba’s College of Pharmacy.
Sunjin Han
Sunjin Han is a 4th year PharmD student at the University of Manitoba and a student representative in the Pharmacists Manitoba External Relations Committee.
Sunjin is currently finishing her APPE Hospital placement at Victoria General Hospital in the low acuity/medicine ward. She is currently the Class of 2026 CAPSI local rep and continues her role in the External Relations Committee as she nears the end of her studies.

Allison Lage
Allison Lage is a fourth-year PharmD candidate at the University of Manitoba and currently serves as Vice President, Professional Affairs on the national council of the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Students and Interns (CAPSI).
She has a passion for advancing the pharmacy profession through advocacy, leadership, and collaboration, with experience ranging from publishing The Apothecary student wellness and advocacy newsletter, to helping build the Manitoba chapter of the National Community Oncology Dispensing Association. She also co-hosted a keynote session at Professional Development Week with the Canadian Pharmacists Association on the recent implementation of the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program. Outside of pharmacy, she is an avid runner and traveler who enjoys exploring new cultures and perspectives.

Brietta Passalis
Brietta Passalis is a fourth year PharmD student at the University of Manitoba. She was an active member of NCODA and CAPSI in visually creative roles and was the lead editor for the 2024 edition of The Apothecary.
Through her experiential rotations she has grown her passion for both hospital and rural pharmacy practice. As a student she gained valuable experience in her position as a pharmacist’s assistant at Health Sciences Centre in the adult inpatients pharmacy and is grateful for the opportunities provided to her in the position. Having completed her APPE rotations Brietta looks forward to beginning her practice as a staff pharmacist in Southern Health-Santé Sud.
